    How to use and interpret

    All common CKD-EPI equations are implemented. The 2021 formulations remove race and are recommended in many settings.

    Combined creatinine–cystatin C often improves accuracy near decision thresholds.

    CKD staging by eGFR
    • G1: ≥90 — normal/high with evidence of kidney damage possible.
    • G2: 60–89 — mildly decreased.
    • G3a: 45–59 — mildly to moderately decreased.
    • G3b: 30–44 — moderately to severely decreased.
    • G4: 15–29 — severely decreased.
    • G5: <15 — kidney failure.
